Step 1First step is to vacuum your interior, especially around where the stain or stains are. You want a good base to work with. It may be a good idea to spray a light layer of automotive interior foam cleaner and wipe it down with a damp color-fast cloth (100% cotton is the best).
-
Step 2If you have a steam cleaner with an attachment, try that first. Often the combination of water, heat, and cleaning agents will be enough to get the stain out. Spray a small amount of water with the attachment onto the stain, and rigorously brush over it, then extract the water with the attachment. Do this five or six times, if this doesn't get rid of the stain, it is time to move on.
-
Step 3Next would be to apply some Woolite to the stain as per the directions. Woolite is a mild cleaner, and can get quite sudsy, but if the stain is removed then that is all you'll need to do! If it doesn't get the stain out, try and use it along with the plastic-bristled brush to mechanically help force the stain out. If it is removed, clean up with the steam cleaner or with a damp cloth. If not, it is time to break out the big guns.
-
Step 4Next, use a product called Folex. It is a favorite of professional detailers, and it will more than likely get the stain out of any carpet or cloth seat. Again, clean up with foam cleaner and a damp cloth or with the steam cleaner.
-
Step 5If it hasn't come out by now, there isn't too much more you can do. The best explanation that it hasn't come out is that it has bleached the cloth. If it has, it may be time to look into getting your seats redone or perhaps painting the stain with a paint specifically for cloth, which should be able to be found at a local craft store.
